The children’s story is a ministry for our children ages birth through grade school.
This is a time especially devoted to children during our church service where a volunteer calls them upfront to sit and hear a special story just for them.
The church is changing the way we present the Children’s story. We ask those who would like to volunteer to tell a children’s story, that they follow the memory verse from the Children’s Primary Sabbath school Quarterly. The memory verse guidelines have been written by Adventist in the conference for us as a guide.
Here are the new guidelines:
* Please note the date of the corresponding memory verse which is to be told to the children on that corresponding date.
* Please keep your story brief and under 5 minutes.
* Please only tell a story and don’t use the overhead board or any video’s.
* Please either tell a personal and relatable story, or use a story from the guideline. (you can download the Adventist Sabbath School app for the extra stories)
* Please remember that your story should draw in the children’s attention, and that we should remember there are young one’s listening, so talk at their level.
* To volunteer to tell a story, please Contact Heidi Giles at 850-313-1763 by phone or text.
We want you to have fun with this so that you enjoy your time with the children as well! If you get nervous, remember that you can sit facing the children. Please remember, if you sign up and something comes up in your life and you can’t do it, please try to find a replacement and let Donna know who that person will be. If you can’t find someone to replace you, please contact, Heidi Giles, as soon as possible at 850-313-1763 so that she can have time to find a replacement for you. If it’s a same day emergency, please don’t send an email on Sabbath morning, call or text Heidi so that a replacement story teller can be found. Thank you and God bless you!
